From Melbourne probably the easiest way is driving. However thier are alternatives.

QANTAS link

Virgin Blue
Regional Express (REX)

Easiest way to get from Albury to Wangaratta is to drive, it will take about 45 min.

Forget it – no train to Wangaratta running for over 2 years!

However when they do finally get them back on track, about 4 trains per day from Melbourne Southern Cross station [Viclink].

The XPT service still runs once per day from Sydney – Melbourne [XPT]

What is my association with WAG?

If you have arranged your locum via WAG then read on.

You should receive a weekly planner via e-mail that will outline your work commitments at the Wangaratta Private Hospital (WPH) and Northeast Health Wangaratta (NEHW).  If  you have not received this by late Friday afternoon, contact Joan Wales and she can either send you a copy via e-mail or give you a password to access the planner on this website .

As your lists and billing are administered by WAG, your costs are calculated on a percentage basis.  Please download and read contract carefully. [contract]

Where do I eat?

Beechworth, Glenrowan, Milawa, Bright

Beechworth is the place to go to eat.  It is only a 36km directly east of Wangaratta, and takes about 30 mins.  Definitely worth the trip at least once.
